BEA 2014 Recap

Last week I was at BEA! I had such an amazing time, met so many amazing people, and got so many great books!

So I stayed in Jersey with my family which I was kind of worried about because I was warned by other bloggers NOT to do it, but it actually worked out really well. The train ride was super long, but it was really nice to also be able to spend time with my family and it saved me a TON of money. Plus, I wasn't invited to all those cool parties because I just don't have the contacts to get myself invited. Which is fine. I was exhausted by the end of the day anyway and basically just took the train home and collapsed. :)

I met so many authors! Jennifer L. Armentrout. Morgan Matson. Garth Nix. Ryan Graudin. Jeanine Frost. Josephine Angelini. Kiera Cass. Julie Kagawa. Robin Talley. Melissa del la Cruz. Elizabeth Wein. SARAH J. MAAS. And probably more that I'm forgetting.

Wow, I look scary in that picture with Sarah J. Maas... Probably because I was like shaking I was so excited. I waited in line to meet her for two and a half hours. Worth. Every. Minute. I got my signed copy of Heir of Fire and she even signed my awesome Throne of Glass tote bag! Sarah was so freaking nice. And pretty. Seriously. Not to sound creepy, but she was so freaking pretty. While waiting in line, I got to hang out with this awesome person:

Wendy @ Book Scents! I swear, Wendy and I were meant to be best friends. Lol. The two and a half hour wait felt like nothing. We had so much fun gushing over book boys and just talking about random things. We met some awesome people with Spencer Hill Press that we were chatting with and really just had a great time.

I met lots of other bloggers as well, but apparently didn't take pictures with any of them. *facepalm*

Oh, and I also took this picture of Cassie Clare and Holly Black who were signing in a line next to me. Unfortunately I didn't get their book because it was ticketed, but still managed to snap a picture. Because seriously CASSIE FREAKING CLARE.

And I know you're all dying to see the haul...So I'm going to sit here and talk some more about random things before showing....don't you dare scroll down! Just kidding! Here it is:

I got a lot of amazing books that I can't wait to read! But really, my favorite part of BEA was meeting all the bloggers. You guys are so awesome and I'm so happy that I got to meet so many of you! Some of you that I talk to regularly on Twitter and others that I never even knew existed! So excited that I was able to discover some new blogs, and just be surrounded by people who love the same thing I do: books!

Did you go to BEA? Did I get to meet you? What was your favorite part? If you didn't go to BEA, we all missed you and hope to see you next year!

P.S. I put up a 20 minute long book haul where I talk and gush over the books. It's here if you feel like subjecting yourself to that...

  1. BEA was amazing! I only got to go to the Bloggers Conference and that Thursday of BEA, but it was great. I agree meeting other bloggers was probably the best part of BEA. Sadly I didn't run into you. Hopefully someday I'll meet you. :) Awesome haul by the way.

  2. Hiiii! Omg I'm so happy I got to meet you in real life! Seriously, that 2.5 hr wait was not even that bad because I had so much fun hanging out and chatting with you! (as you watched me inhale like 5 million different snacks...haha) i love that we got to unashamedly flail over all things heir of fire and chaol and sarah and generally books in general. plus, I totally agree. She's SO pretty! remember how we were practicing in our heads what we wanted to say to her? yeah, I don't even remember because the moment was such a blur. I just remember begging her publicist for a picture HAHA - you are awesome for that btw. I think we got pretty much the same books! haha. except rose of fire! ahh! I got in her line at the tail end but got impatient and left to go to a drop and didn't make it back in time. :( sad. I'm also totally going to watch your haul later. haha. I basically got home, made my fiance sit down as I went over each book and how I got it and how excited I was for it. :/ yeah, he wasn't too pleased.
