Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!
I have been so excited for this topic to come since I first saw it on
the future topics list. You know why? Because I have confessions. And I
want to make them. Get them off my chest. I want to feel that weight
lifted away so I am light enough to float on a cloud. So here it goes:

What are some of your blogging confessions? Lay them on me! You'll feel better getting them off your chest.
Ahhh I love this topic. I'd love to make a post but it's appx 30 min before midnight and I don't htink I have time.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, #9... haha i have a discussion post idea that I want to do talking about that very subject. I just haven't had time to type it up. #10: pfft, i am a book slut and proud of it. *gathers all of them close to me and never lets go* (you can have seth though, but no touching aiden. ;) )
#1... i don't even want to know how many books i own and haven't read. i'll count once i move into the new house. and then burn that number from my memory and never ever ever let fiance find out. EVER. #2: omg i'm so glad you came!!!
Boo...maybe you can do this one on the next freebie topic day. :)
DeleteYou can have Aiden. I'll take Seth. As long as it's ok if I occasionally check out Aiden's hotness. No touching tho! I pinky promise. ;)
Lol you will have to tell me your number so I don't feel so bad about my own. Also, speaking of the house, did you guys get it????
#2: I'm so glad I went as well!! It was so amazing!!
Yes!! we just closed on the house last week!! spent the whoooole long weekend cleaning. still not done. ahhh.
DeleteAhhhh!!! That's so awesome!!! Congratulations!!
DeleteRe: #8 -- Wouldn't blogging professionally be great? I just don't know how it could bring in money. I already have a lot of spare time for it due to the sporadic nature of my job, but it gets a bit discouraging when I'm not earning enough money from my job to support myself.
ReplyDeleteAlso, #1? I feel you. (If you might feel better by looking at someone else's lists, you should check out the "mount TBR" tab at my blog. Ahahahahahhaa. Ha.)
My confessions.
It would be the best!! But alas, book blogging does not rake in the money like other types of blogs. Boo.
DeleteI will go check it out right now!
I don't take long to review either. Another thing in common is blogger jealousy but with comments. Thanks for sharing yours!
ReplyDeleteAhh, yes. I had that when I first started, but now I kinda don't care. It is what it is. I do this because I love it and I love all my followers who take the time to comment. I kind of look at quality of comments over quantity.
Delete#1 - Yes! I'm too scared to count my TBR but last time it was around 75... now it's two shelves worth. *looks nervously at TBR* I'm not counting it, I think I'd rather not know.
ReplyDelete#3 Your discussion posts are fantastic! I don't know how you do it. I'm the same way if I write discussion. It will come to me all at once (typically at an inconvenient time) and I just have to write it down then and there or thats it. Worst feeling ever? Having finished a discussion post and it doesn't get saved. Why.
#4 I'm the same way about writing a review. I try to avoid looking at other's until I've read the book so it's just my own pure reaction, but because I want to discuss it with other people, I try to write my review of it as soon as I can. A day at most after finishing the book I'll typically have the review done. And it doesn't take terribly long either; lately I've been reading books pretty quickly so I'll write multiple reviews at once too.
#7 I used to be a TBR-er (is that a term? no?) and I had a schedule and set TBR I'd share, and I even had this entire year planned out in themed TBRs. But then I started feeling like I was pressuring myself to read only those books, and I wouldn't be in the mood, and a new release I'd really been waiting for would come out, or I'd stumble across a book I'd wanted to read for a long time, etc. So now I've embraced my mood reading. I do love seeing other people's TBRs and goals though!
#8 Could we include a book club in this ideal setting? Readalongs too!
#9 I'm very picky about who I lend books to. Bad experiences.
Sorry about the novel length comments lately, but wonderful TTT!
#7 Yeah, I'm totally lost without my schedule. I feel like I'm just wandering endlessly through an ocean of books and I have no idea how to choose. Lol
DeleteRe #8: yes please!! I wish I could form an awesome book club....
Never apologize for your novel length comments. I love them!!
Aaaand this is why I love you! Haha. #6 totally made me lol! I can't do TTTs for the same reason, as much as I neurotically love lists!
ReplyDeleteI take almost no time to write reviews, either--it takes me way more time to format and tag and add graphics than to write. GAH. Please no one kill me. Maybe that's a bad thing? And I *love* that I'm not the only fickle girl out there. Whenever people want to know my book boyfriend, I just sit there and stare, because seriously: who can pick one?
haha I know right? It's just sooo much work!! And then there's linking all the books you talk about to GR or your review. *sigh* Effort....
DeleteOh my gosh I know! Same here. That's the part that takes the longest. Formatting. Tagging. Cross-posting. Scheduling tweets. Writing? No problem.
Um, exactly. I have like a million book bfs. Although I have a top 3. (Chaol, Seth, Warner)
Hahaha! This is such a great list of confessions. I too would be terrified to go to BEA alone! You are super brave. :P
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, #9, a contract actually sounds like a brilliant idea. Though I think the look I give people when I give them the rules of borrowing books is intense enough to strike fear into their hearts. :)
#1: 132…that's a lot! I have around 60 on my Kindle, about 10 ARCs that I need to review, and then around 20 library books. So yeah…it's bad, but not too bad, I don't think. My goal over the next couple of weeks is to read a lot of my review books. Then I may reevaluate whether I want to keep all of the library books. I just keep renewing them and at some point, I need to face the reality that, if I haven't read them yet, maybe I really don't want to? I tend to get books from the library that I wouldn't buy, which means I'm not as excited to read them.
ReplyDelete#2: Totally understand! That took a lot of guts, to go alone.
#3: You have great discussion posts!
#4: I'm the same way, it takes me about the same time. I just write it, don't really review or edit (except for spelling). It's supposed to be fun and if I took a lot of time to do it, I probably just wouldn't.
#5: Yes! Completely feel the same way. I see other people getting books that I desperately want and I'm like, why not me????? I don't want them not to get them, I just want them too! (Although ok, here's a confession, it does make me a little angry when a blogger gets a 2nd or 3rd book in a series and they haven't even read the first one and it's one of my favorites and I can't wait to get my hands on it and they have it and they say, I guess I need to read the first book now…super jealous and feeling green, I have to say).
#6: At least you do the cute graphics! (I need to pick your brain sometime about how to do that sometime, by the way).
#7: Sometimes I pick up a book, read a chapter, then pick up another book, read a chapter, etc. until I find one that I want to read. What's sad is sometimes I'm just in the mood for a particular type of book and even with almost 100 books that I have, that I should pick from, I find and buy a book because I'm not in the mood for any of them.
#8: Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!
#9: The same. I think I told you before about my friend who dropped my hardback book into the bathtub and returned it looking so sad. It was hard to stay friends with her! :)
#10: I'm chuckling at that one. So many cute boys!!! Sounds like a good discussion post to me! ~Pam
You only have ten ARCs??? *bows down to you* Seriously, that is crazy good. I wish I could get my ARC number down to that. Guess that's happens when you go to BEA...
Delete#5: yes, I totally agree with you on that. There were a lot of people at BEA grabbing galleys of things like Mortal Heart and Heir of Fire who haven't started either of those series...
#6 For graphics I use picmonkey. It's a free design tool. Pretty easy to use I think. I don't have the "royal" version so I just get to use the stuff that's free, but I really like it.
#7 hahaha that's like me when I look in my closet and go "I have nothing to wear". I think my husband wants to murder me every time.
