Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!

This week we are talking about our Winter TBRs. I tend to get a lot of reading done in the winter because it's way too freaking cold out to venture out. I'm quite content to curl up on my couch under a blanket with my books. The perfect way to spend winter actually. Do I still have to go to work?

I decided to focus my list on new releases, but I also am going to try to squeeze in some older books I've been meaning to read. The Lux series being one them. (Try not to freak out too much, Wendy...) Anyway, here's the new releases that I want get to this winter (may it not be too long and may we not get a lot of snow):

The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black - I've had this since BEA and it looks creepy and fantastic in true Holly Black fashion. I can't wait to get started on it!

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard - Fantasy is growing in YA and I will swoop up every single new fantasy that's coming my way.

A Wicked Thing by Rhiannon Thomas - Another new fantasy. Also that cover is beautiful!!

This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner - I loved the first book in this companion series and even though Lilac and Tarver's story is over, I know that these two ladies will bring me more characters to fall in love with.

Polaris by Mindee Arnett - Continuing with the space theme... space thieves! Love the first book in this series and can't wait to jump back in!

Fairest by Marissa Meyer - Do I even need to explain this one to you? First of all, it's Marissa Meyer. Second of all, you all know how much I love a good villain and to get a whole book on this villain's story? I am DYING!!

The Glass Arrow by Kristen Simmons - I love Kristen Simmons Article 5 series and I can't wait to see what she brings to the table next.

The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski - The Winner's Curse lived up to all the hype and more. And then that cliffhanger. This one doesn't come out until March, but I'm crossing my fingers that I'll somehow get my hands on an ARC.

The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall - This one sounds so good! It kind of reminds me of Gossip Girl with the rich, luxurious lifestyle. But I'm really excited about all the different settings that the synopsis promises. I'm kind of tired of boring old America. Take me to new lands!

Zodiac by Romina Russell - Another one I've had since BEA that actually comes out at the beginning of December. It sounds so unique and I've been so excited about it but keep putting it off for some stupid reason. Well no more! This one is getting read this winter.

Oh, and just for fun, I decided to look back on last year's winter TBR list and guess what? I read every single book! Woohoo!

What's on your winter TBR? Any of them match up with mine?

  3. So many great books. Half of them are on my list and the other half are on my "I need to get my hands on these" wishlist. Lots of great fantasy coming out this winter, which is awesome because for some reason I always want to read fantasy in the winter. Great list!

    1. A lot of these are on my wishlist, but I'm sure I'll get my hands on them soon. Fantasy is really good for winter. I'm not sure why, but it just seems to fit. I think in summer, I want fun, light reads and in winter I'm ready for darker, more elaborate books.

This Shattered World has cameos from Tarver and Lilac as well! Tarver has a relatively large role in it, actually :)
