Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!
This week we are talking about sequels that we are dying for. Seriously, how did I even limits this list to ten? Because there are SO MANY SEQUELS I NEED IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW. Damn you, authors and your cliffhanger endings.
Winter: Oh my gosh. My first thought after finishing Cress was "oh dear god no, this wait for Winter is going to be HORRIBLE". I proceeded to freak out and may have fallen onto my bed dramatically. My husband thinks I'm crazy.
Throne of Glass #3: Um yeah. Sarah J. Maas is the queen of cliffhangers and I absolutely must figure out a way to hack into her computer. Because I believe it is a violation of my basic human rights to make me wait a whole year for the next book after the ending to Heir of Fire.
The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski: Another cliffhanger ending. What is it with freaking cliffhangers? I need more Kestrel and Arin in my life. Luckily I don't have to wait too terribly much longer for this one, though I may need to reread The Winner's Curse first.
The Elemental Trilogy #3: I am in love with this fantasy series! Dragons, wyverns, magic wands, it can't get any better. But The Perilous Sea ended on a horrible cliffhanger!! You can't just end it there! Dying over here.
The Dark Elements #3: Oh Roth, my love. I need more of your sexiness in my life. I must know who she chooses. And it better be Roth. Or I will cry and rage.
Half Wild: I really loved Half Bad. The complete darkness to this complex witches world just grabbed me and pulled me in. I'm very curious to see what Nathan is going to do about his father. This one is almost here too!! Yay!
Soulbroken: This one has been quite the roller coaster. Its release date passed without a peep and with no book. Then there was an announcement that it wasn't happening because apparently Soulbound didn't sell very well. Then the internet rebelled and Harper Teen agreed to publish it in ebook format only. Too bad we have to wait until Fall 2015. Wayyy too long, people.
This Shattered World: Even though I will miss Tarver and Lilac (this is a companion to These Broken Stars), I'm still so excited to jump back into this exciting world in space. And I'm sure these ladies will introduce me to another swoony guy and kickass heroine. I have faith. Only a little over a month to go for this one!
Titan #2: More of my cuddle bunny please! The wait for this is going to be excruciating, seeing as how The Return doesn't even come out until February. So that means probably over a year before the sequel. Fml. That's what I get for being so impatient and reading my ARC way too early.
Snow Like Ashes #2: I really loved this imaginative new fantasy world. Eternal seasons and rhythm kingdoms. And don't forget about that hot prince... This will be quite the wait as well. Another year.
Most of these, I'm looking at around a year long wait!! No!!! Life is so unfair sometimes isn't it? What's on your list of most anticipated sequels this week?

UGH, right?! I'm totally going to need to reread The Return before the second comes out because I read it like in June and it doesn't even come out til.. next year. we're going to be waiting SO LONG UGH.
ReplyDeleteTOG4!!!!! I need it I need it I need it.
Yeah, I'm definitely going to have to reread too. That's fine with me tho. More sexy Seth!!
DeleteI NEED IT LIKE I NEED OXYGEN. I THINK I MIGHT DIE WAITING.
I need Winter - I need it in my life now! I also really need to read Half Bad and These Broken Stars. Great list! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I know right!! Both of those are really good! Let me know what you think if you get to them!
DeleteAhh!! I need my hands on Heir of Fire, Winter and These Broken Stars (I know, I'm behind).
ReplyDeleteHeir of Fire is amazing!! But the wait for #4 will kill you. Literally. We are probably all going to be dead before it comes out. Damn you, Sarah!!
DeleteI'm so glad I'm checking in on everyone's Top 10 lists this week - I didn't realize Winner's Curse had a sequel coming out.
ReplyDeleteYess!! I think in March? But I have heard that the 2nd one has just as bad of a cliffhanger as the 1st one so... more horrible waiting. fml.
DeletePretty much all of these are on my list except for Half Wild, which I'm sure I'll read but I just liked the first book, I didn't love it. And I haven't read The Return yet, but I'm sure I'll love it. I mean, come on, it's JLA. And she's such a writing machine that it probably will only be six months (from February) for the next one (although I read that she's not going to be cranking them out as fast anymore so maybe it will be a year). But yes to all the rest!!!! These series are killing me, especially the ones with cliffhanger endings. Great list! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteCliffhanger endings are the death of me!!! I am so tired of them. And then book amnesia. And no time to reread. Still, I keep reading and starting new series. lol
