On a Date With My Book Boyfriend (2)

Learn more about this feature on my first post, featuring Chaol Westfall!

For my second date, I'm going out with Warner from the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. Warner was my #1 book boyfriend for a long time. Chaol ended up knocking him down a notch, but I still LOVE Warner. All you haters out there, just get out of here. Warner is amazing.

Warner loves pretty dresses that leave little to the imagination. He proved that by filling a closet full of them for Juliette. Well Juliette isn't here. Just me. Here's what I'm wearing:

Paneled Body-Con Dress

I'm pretty sure that Warner will die upon seeing me in this. We might not even make it to dinner...

What I'm Cooking:

Vodka Sauce w/Italian Seasoned Chicken:

(Sorry for the crappy picture. I am terrible at photography...)

Ingredients:

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 box penne noodles
3 Tbsp butter
1 small onion, chopped
1 shake cayenne red pepper
1/2 cup vodka
1 1/2 cup tomato puree
2/3 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp salt
parmesan cheese

Directions:

Season the chicken however you want. I had this convenient little italian seasoning packet, but you could do anything (salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, chives, basil, etc.). Cut the chicken breast lengthwise so they're a bit thinner and cook on the stove in some olive oil. Once cooked, you can cube the chicken.

Get your pasta going.

In another pan, saute the onion in the butter until onion is translucent.
Add a shake of cayenne red pepper and the vodka and simmer for five minutes.
Add tomato puree and simmer 5 minutes.
Add heavy cream and simmer 3 minutes.

Throw the pasta, chicken and sauce in a large pot or bowl and toss to coat pasta with sauce. Serve with parmesan cheese on top!

I got this recipe from my mom's girlfriend and it is amazing!! Thanks, Betsy!!

Dinner is ready and Warner has arrived!

.....................................................

Dinner now needs to be reheated... And we finally get to talking. Warner calls me "love" all night and I swoon all over. He tells me about his mother and I love hearing about her. Getting Warner to open up is pretty awesome. He even tells me about Adam and how he's finally coming to terms with the fact (WARNING!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!) that they are brothers.

I tell him about how I wish that I had cool powers and how I worry that I'll never be enough for him. And he says "Your beauty and sheer awesomeness are your superpowers, love." And I die again. We don't make it to dessert...

What a great night! If you could go on a date with one of your book boyfriends who would it be? Would you cook for them? Share your favorite recipe!

  1. Ok, yes I'm a Warner hater…sorry. Not sorry. I'm still mad about how this series turned out and how I feel manipulated by the author for her revisionist history! I would have had more respect had she kept Warner his bad self. I would have disagreed with Juliette's choice, but I wouldn't have felt like the author was pushing me to accept it.

Sorry for the rant. Cute post! ~Pam

    1. Lol I know how you feel about Warner. It's so funny how divided people are on the triangle in this series.
