Five Things I Like & Five Things I Dislike In Bookish Romantic Relationships

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!

Today's topic is all about one of my favorite things. Romance. And I'm going to tell you what I love seeing in my bookish romances. And what I don't like. In awesome gif format of course.

I Like It Like This:

Sexual Tension

Like this. Or like Noah and Echo…Hot damn.

Best Friends Turned Lovers

Cutest Ever.

Hot Bad Boys

Um hello? I’m Team Warner…and Team Seth. Leather jackets for life.

Pet Names

Like how Warner calls Juliette “love”

The Perfect First Kiss

You know when you have to wait the whole damn book for it to happen. But all that waiting makes it absolutely magical??

No Thank You:

Instalove

Obvi.

Already Established Relationships

When you’re just told they’ve been dating for four years. I love first kisses too much.

When They Wont Admit They Like Each Other

Just make out already.

Cheating

When the relationship starts out with cheating. Not cool.

Love Triangles

You’re messing with my ship.

And that's all I've got. What are some things that you like/dislike in bookish romantic relationships?

  1. This is a great list, and I love the gifs!! I also have a deep deep love for best friends turned lovers and the sexual tension especially. :)

  2. Haha!! Oh...I am totally enjoying these gifs! Especially that last one! Truly the best Pirates movie was the first one! Totally agree with these as well! Love triangles, blah! But definitely like the bad boys...like Dean...or a handful of other ones I could think of from books. But Supernatural does have a book series out there, so he can count! ;)

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. I am not big on 'the bad boy' trope, although there are some NA books that have changed my mind....

    1. I'm a sucker for it. I feel like I shouldn't, but I can't help it. I just love them!

  4. We both had sexual tension…gotta have that, right??

Already established relationships…agreed. I'm trying to think if any of my favorite couples have had that and I don't think so. I love seeing the relationship develop and if they're already in love, usually I never feel that strongly about them as a couple. I want to SEE it, FEEL it, and also, if it's already established, there's usually ZERO sexual tension.

    Love the gifs! ~Pam

    1. Of course! It's the best!!

Yeah, I like to see it from start to happily ever after. Or else I don't really care.

      Thanks!!

  5. I love these Rebecca! I am on point with ALL OF THESE. Well, the bad boys I might have swapped out for good guys. I don't know why I'm such a sucker for good guys lately! I just read a novella that had cheating and instalove... I was like UHHHH. NO.

The book I'm currently reading has the whole not admitting to liking each other and I'm bothered by it. Ugh.

I do love the best friends to lovers trope though!
