I talk a lot about books on this blog. Obviously. It is a book blog. But I also enjoy and become obsessed with many other things in my life. And sometimes I like to share those things with you wonderful people. So here are some nonbookish things that I'm currently obsessed with.
These pants. I bought these in black, white, and plum because they are just THAT COMFORTABLE. They're technically cropped pants, but because I'm so short, I can actually get away with wearing them as an ankle pant. Seriously obsessed. I love this color and they have a dark wash denim that I really want as well. When you find the right pair of pants, you just need to buy them in every single color. Am I right?

My new Aerogarden! Phil and I bought this a few weeks ago and I am in love! I can't kill these plants because the machine literally does it for you. The lights are on an automatic timer so mine turn on at 6:30am and turn off at 11:30pm. I've got basil, chives and cilantro growing in mine right now. I think after one more week we'll be able to start harvesting. We also planted two pods with strawberries yet. Those haven't sprouted yet, but I'm hopeful. They say strawberries take 4-5 weeks to germinate. I'm not very patient though and have told Phil several times that they are never going to grow.

These white chicken enchiladas. I've been on a Pinterest rampage lately and I tried this recipe the other day and OMG IT WAS AMAZING!! Phil said "I feel like I'm eating at a Mexican restaurant right now." And then immediately asked when I would be making them again. So tasty.

My new food processor. Phil got this for me for Christmas and I am in LOVE with it. I use it for everything. To chop veggies for salads. Shred chicken. Shred cheese. I'm going to use it to make pesto once my basil is big enough to harvest. I seriously love this thing.

This post is beginning to take on a food trend isn't it? I am obsessed with avocado. I never really like avocado and then one day I decided I loved guacamole and now I can't get enough avocado. I've been cutting up half of one and putting it in my salads and mmmmm it is tasy!!

This eye makeup remover. My sister recommended this stuff to me and it is awesome! No oils at all, but still does a great job of taking my eye makeup off. And I wear water-proof liquid liner everyday. They also have eye makeup remover pads she says are really good if you just have light makeup on.

Florence + The Machine, The XX and Lana Del Rey. I am obsessed with all three of these artists/bands right. There's such an ethereal quality to their music that instantly calms me when I put it on.
So there you have it! The nonbookish things I'm currently obsessing over. What about you? Got any great products/recipe/music/etc. to share with me?

Those chicken enchiladas look pretty tasty! Might try out the recipe sometime :D
ReplyDeleteOmg, they are soooo good!! If you try it, I seasoned the chicken with garlic salt, oregano, cumin and pepper and then just stuck them in the oven, cooked them, and shredded them. Then followed the recipe. :D
DeleteDefinitely going to check out those chicken enchiladas! We cook (by we I mean WILL) cooks a lot of Mexican type stuff. Also I am FASCINATED by that aerogarden. I want to have my own spices and crap but I hate our apartment bc we barely get ANY light in so it's no good for having plants! :( So thank you for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are soooo good! I did the chicken in the oven - seasoned it w/garlic salt, oregano, cumin and pepper - then shredded. We just harvested our very first basil! Made some bruschetta, going to have chicken bruschetta paninis for dinner tomorrow. :D
DeleteOk, love the pants, they're really cute. And comfortable? I'll have to go to the store and check them out. And yes, those chicken enchiladas look yummy! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteThey are the most comfortable pair of skinny jeans I've ever owned. Seriously in love with them. Omg they were soooo good!
DeleteSo i looked for that eye make up remover at the store! I've used the simple face wash before (which was ok but I don't use it anymore) but I wanted to try this. I currently use the sephora eye make up remover which is okayy but sometimes makes my eyes burn :/ anyway, they didn't have it at the store but maybe i'll get it off amazon :)
ReplyDeleteI found it at Target! I love that it's 100% oil free. It doesn't make my eyes oily at all, but it still does a great job of getting all the makeup off.
