Ten Book Related Problems I Have

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!

This topic is my favorite thing ever. I have way more than ten bookish problems and more than I even listed here, but I tried to have some self-control.

Lack of shelf space - don't we all have this problem

Keeping track of what I have vs what I don't - Especially with my Kindle books and egalleys. I literally find myself going "did I buy that? I feel like I did...."

Being told that I'm not allowed to read during work - Um, how else am I supposed to get through my TBR before I die?

Not having anything to talk about with people who don't like to read - awkward silence

When people stop being your friend because you talk too much about your book boyfriends - they just don't get it

Telling people you read all weekend and hearing them respond with something like "well that doesn't sound very exciting" - You know nothing, Jon Snow

People thinking that I'm quiet/an introvert just because I read - not that being an introvert is a bad thing, I just thing it's automatically assumed that I am an introvert which is not the case

Lack of TV/movie knowledge - I don't watch a lot of TV/movies because I would rather read.

People expecting me to know who every author is ever - they find out I read a lot or blog about books and all of a sudden it's "have you heard of this person? What about this book?" Just because I read a lot doesn't mean I know every single author ever published. You do know how huge the publishing industry is don't you?

When people start recommending me books willy nilly - I like book recs. But I hate when I tell someone I like reading and they immediately launch into some book recs. You didn't even ask what I like to read!!

When your friends don't understand why you would rather go home and read on a Friday night than go out drinking - sorry not sorry

Waiting for the next book in a series - the rest of the world just doesn't understand that I'm DYING.

Book hangovers - having to go to work after staying up late to finish a book that completely slayed my feels.

And many, many more. What are some of your book related problems?

  1. Pretty much all of this! I am actually getting kind of stressed out reading through people's TTTs haha because omg I need to have time to read before I die! and I want more bookshelves (NEED rather than want, really). And I'm sick of work, I want a bookcation. Thank god for amazon telling me I already bought things :)

    1. Lol right?? It's so stressful all of these bookish problems! Especially lack of shelf space and the inability to read my TBR before I die... I definitely need a bookcation.

  2. I love this entire list! It's so hard to be a bookish person with few bookish friends. They just don't get it! Thank goodness we have each other. :)
Waiting for the next book - sucks.
I hate when I get a ton of recs too! I'm already so picky, and I feel bad telling people I'm not interested lol.

    1. I know right? Thank god for each other. What I do before I met all my awesome blogging friends??

I know right? You're like "yeah, I'll check it out." and you know you won't ever check it out...

  3. Great list! I definitely have a lack of shelf space, especially recently. I've run out of room and don't know where else to put books! I also hate waiting for the next book in a series. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WITHOUT WAITING.

    1. I know! My books are starting to take over my home. They are on the floor, on the shelf, on the table, on the coffee table. It's bad. Lol. I KNOW! I'M DYING FOR SO MANY SEQUELS RIGHT NOW!!!

  4. Love the gifs!

Yes, waiting for the next book in a series. I just keep starting more and more series and I love them, but it's so hard waiting for the next book…I hate it! A month I can handle, but a year or more??? It just hurts.

    Great list! ~Pam
