Synopsis from Goodreads:

Abram and Juliette know each other. They’ve lived down the street from each other their whole lives. But they don’t really know each other—at least, not until Juliette’s mom and Abram’s dad have a torrid affair that culminates in a deadly car crash. Sharing the same subdivision is uncomfortable, to say the least. They don’t speak.

Fast-forward to the neighborhood pharmacy, a few months later. Abram decides to say hello. Then he decides to invite her to Taco Bell. To her surprise as well as his, she agrees. And the real love story begins.

My Review:

Oh my gosh you guys this book was so cute! Just as I was hoping it would be. But first of all I have to say that I am still singing Mr. Brightside in my head and now I’m going to share the song so you can all have it stuck in your heads as well.

Now that you’re jamming out to The Killers I can tell you what I loved about this book. And that was 100% the characters. Both Juliette and Abram were such weird individuals. And I mean that in the best way possible. Their relationship started off so weirdly. Their parents both died in a car crash while they were sneaking around with each other on a get-away weekend. Both of them were past the initial phase of their grief so this book wasn’t super heavy due to that. But their relationship was awkward at first given their parents’ history.

Somehow though, they just work together. Juliette goes over to Abram’s house. Lets herself in whenever she wants. Takes his dogs for walks. Rearranges his mom’s closet. I told you this girl was weird. She has a small problem with Adderall and Abram attempts, in the gentlest, best way possible to help her deal with that.

And Abram knows exactly how to communicate with Juliette. He knows when to make weird, inappropriate jokes. When to say super weird things like they knew each other in a past life as whales. He knows when to leave her alone and when to run after her. Their relationship was adorable and I loved every second of it.

This book doesn’t go super deep into their problems or even their relationship and if I’m being honest with myself, I don’t think that it will be very memorable for me. However, this book was just the right amount of light and fluffy that I needed after a heavy, intense read. If you like light and fluffy you’re not going to want to miss this one.
