February is in the past! That means that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel of this horribly long and frozen tundra of a winter. Seriously. I am so sick of cold. I think this was how my January rewind post started... But it also means that it's March which means it's my birthday month!! Yes, I am one of those people that LOVES my birthday. I was born a princess and will die a princess. So naturally my birthday is one of my favorite days of the year. But enough about March. This post is about February.

So I had kind of a rough month for reading. But within that rough month were a few AMAZING books. I'll take it. Book of the month? I am torn between Pushing the Limits (because NOAH FREAKING HUTCHINS) and A Darker Shade of Magic because of the magic and parallel worlds and just general awesomeness.
Other Posts:
Most notable is that I participated in the Love-a-Thon hosted by the lovely Alexa! This was a super fun event where the blogging community just shared the love and all the positive things. There were a bunch of fun mini challenges like book spine poetry and bookish snapshots. I had such a great time going and checking out other people's blogs, chatting with people on Twitter, making new friends and reconnecting with old ones.
My favorite Top Ten Tuesday of the month was definitely my Top Ten Book Related Problems. I have a lot more than ten...
I also did the I Mustache You Some Questions tagged which was fun. Learn more random and quirky facts about me with that one like how many nicknames I have (I actually have more than what I put down...)
I talked about some nonbookish things I'm currently obsessed with including a pair of pants that I already own in three different colors (and planning on buying at least two more) and my indoor garden I started.
I made a comprehensive list of all the retellings that are coming out in 2015 & 2016. There are a LOT. And they all sound so amazing!!
And I celebrated my two year blogoversary!! Two years!! Can you believe it? Neither can I! The giveaway is still going on so make sure you hop on over and enter! Open internationally this time!
In My Real Life:
I saw the 50 Shades of Grey movie with my friend Michelle. What a colossal waste of money. We were just trying not to laugh hysterically the whole time watching. The actor who played Christian was terrible. Oh and the girl has super hairy legs. I'm not exaggerating. But we still had a good time in spite of the horror that was that movie.
Other than that, not too much. I'm continuing in my quest to eat healthier and feel like I'm doing a pretty good job. I've definitely cut my eating out down a lot. My husband even congratulated me last month after he did the budget and saw how little I had gone out to eat! This is a big deal, people. I crave McDonald's french fries like a drug addict craves their next fix.
Basically I've just been holing up in my apartment waiting out this winter. We've gotten a bit of snow this last month. Hadn't had anything all year and then it was like the never-ending snow storm of February. Please let it be over now.

Finding Mr. Brightside by Jay Clark: March 25, 2015 - This book sounds adorable. Plus I love that Killers song.
The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski: March 3, 2015 - It's out!!! And I am DYING to read it. And also scared that it's going to shred my feels.
Black Dove, White Raven by Elizabeth Wein: March 31, 2015 - A new Elizabeth Wein book! This woman knows how to write historical fiction.
Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver: March 10, 2015 - Even though her last book and I didn't get along, I'm still excited for this. Because it's a sister story!
Duplicity by N.K. Traver: March 17, 2015 - This book sounds like a mind-fuck. I need it.
Half Wild by Sally Green: March 24, 2015 - I LOVED Half Bad and I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel!!

So many good March releases! So how was your February? Read any good books I need to know about? Link me up to a post on your blog from February so I can come visit! And tell me which March releases you're excited for!

That's pretty funny about 50 Shades of Grey. Maybe I'll watch it when it comes out on On Demand. So much hype for that movie!!
ReplyDeleteSo many great books coming out in March. I got Winner's Crime this week, but I haven't read it yet. It's so hard to read the second book for some reason! Why can't the third book be out already too??
Darker Shade of Magic…agreed. Fantastic book. I loved it.
Hope you have a great birthday!!! ~Pam
Lol yeah, it was ridiculous.
DeleteI still don't have Winner's Crime. I tend to wait a long time before reading the 2nd book in a series too... maybe it's because I don't want to wait for the last one? Plus I heard Winner's Crime has a KILLER ending.
Thanks, Pam!!
If you end up reading orphan queen before I do, tell me what you think! It sounds AMAZING but then I've seen some rave reviews and some not and I don't know what to think now haha. Also -- when is your birthday in march??
ReplyDeleteI will! I've also read mixed reviews, but I think I've been seeing mostly positive? I haven't read her other series, have you? My birthday is actually tomorrow! The 14th! :) National pi day. lol
