Top Ten Characters I'd Like To Check In With

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!

I love this week's topic. Do you ever think about the characters that you leave behind once you finish a book? I do all the time. I would love to know where they are now and what they're doing. Because when I get really invested in a book, I'm getting invested in the characters, in their lives. They're becoming my friends and family. And I don't want to just abandon them. So here's my top ten characters I would love to check in with just to see how they're doing.

WARNING: THERE MAY BE MINOR SPOILERS IN THESE. I tried to keep things vague, but just thought I'd give you a heads up.

Which characters would you like to check in with?

  1. Elisa is in my list too! I've also always wondered what happened to Roar, I loved him so much in UTNS :) I couldn't stand to read about Hazel dying, that's the reason I didn't include her in my list :( Great list!

    1. I love Elisa! Yes, Roar! I just want to make sure he's happy again you know? That's true, it would be very difficult to read about Hazel dying. :(

  4. Hazel is a great choice. I wondered about what lay ahead for her, too, and for her parents.

    1. Yes, good point about her parents. They were such good people. :)

  5. I didn't participate in this one because it was just so hard! I probably would have tried to think of all the open ending books, like Eleanor and Park, because you just want to know! Open endings just kill me.

I read that epilogue in Winterspell too, and while I appreciated it, it was a little disappointing to me for some reason. Just not as over the top as I wanted.

Day and June!!! They just better be happy, that's all I have to say.

Hazel…hmmm…(SPOILER) I always thought that, with the way the book ended, in mid-sentence, that Hazel died at the end of the book. But that was just my interpretation.

    Great list! ~Pam

    1. I want to check in with all my favorite characters! Lol, it helped that I'm in the middle of a million series right now, so I could automatically put those aside.

Yes, agreed about Winterspell. I enjoyed it, but of course, I wanted more. And I wanted it to be more intense I think? I was talking to the author on Twitter the other day though and she said she really wants to write more about Cane in the future so we can cross our fingers!

Day and June BETTER be happy. I want Day to remember. So badly.

Yeah, I guess that's true. I kind of had forgotten it ended like that. Obviously I blocked that from my memory. I'd still like to see how her parents are doing I think. And how Isaac is.
