Summer of Series

Summer is practically here so it's time to start thinking about my summer reading list! I think this is going to be the summer of series. My review schedule always seems to go down during the summer. I feel like there are less books released during the summer months and I suppose maybe it works in the same way that TV shows work. Summer hiatus maybe? But this is a good thing for me because it means I can focus on my backlog! Which is quite huge and ultimately super embarrassing.

Series to Binge:

Yes, I'm finally going to read The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. Because seriously what am I waiting for? Also, I'm going to try to grab an ARC of Six of Crows at BEA which is her newest book set in the same world as this series so I'll probably binge all three of these and then jump right into that one.

This is going to be a reread for me. I haven't read this series since middle school and I've been dying to read the new prequel, Clariel. So I'm going to reread the series and then finally jump into Clariel. So excited to revisit this world of necromancers!

So many people keep telling me I'll love this set of companion novels. I've had the first one for a while now, but still haven't gotten around to starting it. This summer I hope to accomplish it.

I got this one for Christmas from my mom and I definitely want to binge read it this summer. I've heard nothing but good things and I'm sure I'll love it.

I really want to get to this Alice In Wonderland retelling series. I need to meet Morpheus, guys!

Series to Finish:

My sister just started rereading this series so I'm going to have her recap me and then I'll finally read the final book.

I seriously need to finish this series. I mean, it's full of hot boys. What the hell am I waiting for?

I definitely want to read this companion to Code Name Verity this summer. I loved that book so much and I'm sure anything else Elizabeth Wein writes is gold.

I'd love to read the next two companion novels in Katie McGarry's Pushing the Limits series. I loved the first two and can't wait to read more of these characters' stories.

I know. I'm pathetic. I can't believe I haven't finished this series yet. I'm such a failure. I definitely need to read this monster of a book this summer.

That's a lot of books. I probably can't do it/won't do it, but I'm going to try! I need to cut down on my backlog for real. I have all these wonderful books sitting in my house and I haven't even read half of them. Now as long as I can control my twitching fingers when I get on Edelweiss and Netgalley...

What's on your summer reading list? Planning on binge-reading any series?

  1. Hope you can get at least some of these struck of the list! So many great series on here- especially Grisha! City of Heavenly Fire was a pretty good series ending (particularly if you've read TID, the links between the series are awesome).

    1. Omg I love all the little links between TMI and TID. Cassandra Clare is a genius. I worry I'm not going to get them all though now because it's been so long since I've read both.

  4. Oh yes yes yes! Graceling, Fire and Bitterblue all have something different to fall in love with, but mostly because it features amazing kick-ass females that show you can have strength in different ways.
