Rewind and Fast Forward: May 2015

May is over and summer is here in full force! I've already complained multiple times about the heat, then wanted to slap myself in the face because that's better than snow right? May was an extremely busy month for me both on the blog and in my real life. In case you missed anything, here's what went down:

Reviews:

Illusionarium by Heather Dixon: 3 Stars
Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge: 4 Stars
The Secrets We Keep by Trisha Leaver: 2.5 Stars
The Replaced by Kimberly Derting: 3 Stars
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: 5 Billion Stars
Heat of the Moment by Lauren Barnholdt: 3 Stars
Making Pretty by Corey Ann Haydu: 3.5 Stars
Vanished by E.E. Cooper: 3 Stars
Made You Up by Francesca Zappia: 4.5 Stars
A Sense of the Infinite by Hilary T. Smith: 3 Stars
Hold Me Like a Breath by Tiffany Schmidt: 2.5 Stars
The Improbable Theory of Ana and Zak by Brian Katcher: 3 Stars

A very average month for me. :/ But I read two pretty freaking amazing books including Made You Up about a schizophrenic girl and my book of the month, A Court of Thorns and Roses. Did any of you doubt that I would love Sarah's newest book? She is amazing.

Other Posts:

I showed you guys my final Camp Nano numbers. I didn't reach my goal, but I got myself into a good writing routine. And, AND, are you ready for it? I just (literally like an hour ago) FINISHED my first draft of my current WIP! *hapy dance*

I also shared some BEA tips and my schedule in preparation for BEA. Don't worry, we'll get to that in a minute. I talked about my goal to binge a whole bunch of series this summer and I wrote two discussion posts on the sacrificial book (you know that book you read after reading a 5 billion star book?) and Kindle Worlds (which is basically the monetization of fanfiction).

In My Real Life:

Oh my gosh, I was so busy this month. I went back to Chicago again for my friend's wedding that I was in. It was over Memorial Day weekend so I took Friday off and made it a four day weekend. Best part? I got to spend my mom's birthday with her for the first time in a few years. We went shopping and I bought her clothes. It was over too fast though. The weekend flew by and I definitely did not get enough quality mom/sister time. But it was nice to see them even if it was for only like two days.

Then the very next weekend, I was off to BEA! I'm going to do a full recap post later on this week so watch for that, but I'll just briefly tell you that it was amazing. I had such an awesome time, met so many awesome people. I felt like I was at home, gushing over books with all the people who actually understand me. I'm definitely going to try to make Chicago happen next year.

Fast-Forward:

The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker: June 2, 2015: A witch hunter teams up with her worst enemy, a powerful sorcerer. I'm sure sparks are bound to fly.
Spelled by Betsy Schow: June 2, 2015: A fun twist on The Wizard of Oz where Dorothea, the princess of Story, accidentally sends her parents to a place called Kansas. This retelling sounds so fun!
The Edge of Forever by Melissa E. Hurst: June 2, 2015: Time travel!
Mindwalker by A.J. Steiger: June 9, 2015: About a girl who can erase people's memories, their traumatic pasts, but of course there's a conspiracy and the big guys are corrupt.
The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent: June 9, 2015: Immortal souls, demons and a creepy and cruel Church that rules with an iron fist.
Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone: June 16, 2015: About a girl with OCD. I have been loving all these books addressing mental illness lately. So happy it's not a thing to be whispered about anymore.

That's it guys! How was your month of May? What was your favorite book you read? What June release are you most excited about?
