I saw this movie months ago when I was home for Christmas
and guys, I’m still thinking about it. It was so freaking good and I have just
been itching to do a post on it. Let’s talk about some of my favorite things.Warning: The following contains major spoilers from the Disney movie Frozen. If you don't want to be spoiled leave now. You have been warned.
- Sister relationship!!! Omg I’ve been waiting for this movie to be made. I have two sisters who I’m really close to and have been dying for a movie or a book that depicts this amazing bond. I loved watching Anna and Elsa work through their “issues” which quite honestly were nonexistent. Only Elsa’s fear of hurting her sister.
- Anna is my older sister. Like carbon copy. That super awkward, but hilarious girl. We were sitting in the theater watching this and my mom, my younger sister, and myself were all immediately like “Megan, it’s you!”
- I am Elsa. I’ve got a little bit of diva in me, just like Elsa. I have a fierce desire to protect my sisters just like Elsa. Nobody messed with my sisters in high school because they knew if they did they would have to mess with me. And nobody wanted that.
- We joked that my younger sister was Olaf. He’s kind of just this happy, ignorant little guy (who I absolutely loved!), but my younger sister has a lot of “Allie moments” as we have dubbed them. So when Olaf didn’t realize he would melt, we were like, oh my gosh it’s Allie! Don’t worry, we love you sweetie.
- The music!!! Has anybody else been listening to this soundtrack on repeat for like weeks?? Please tell me that’s not just me. I am OBSESSED. Let it Go is my new favorite song ever and I have had Do You Wanna Build a Snowman stuck in my head for like two weeks straight. Ever since that horrible snowstorm where we got 23 inches of snow….
- The magic! I loved the awesome amazing things that Elsa could do with snow and ice. Her ice castle was so freaking beautiful!!! If I wasn’t so adamantly against cold weather, I would totally live there.
- The fact that now I can blame the cold weather on Elsa and ask her to please thaw it out.
- The almost insta-love, but change into an awesome relationship! It was almost insta-love, but then Disney was like, nope. *applauds*
- The feels!! When their parents die. *tears up* Anna and Kristoff *smiles stupidly* Olaf “Some people are worth melting for” *dies of feels* Elsa’s emotional turmoil: I felt for this girl! Poor thing. She’s had to hide who she is her whole life in order to protect the ones she loves. The gnomes! Oh my gosh that is one of my favorite songs. So adorable and I just can’t even.
- The colors! Okay, I really really really hate winter. It’s gross. It’s cold. It’s ugly. But in movies and especially Disney movies, they make the magic of snow come back. It’s so sparkly and glorious and I just want to live there.
- Okay I can’t. I have to stop or this post is going to be ridiculously long. But I just love this movie so much and can’t help fangirling over it! I’m totally going as Elsa for Halloween this year!!
Have you seen this movie? Are you as obsessed with it as I am? What do you love about it? Who is your favorite character?
I adore this movie! Definitely like the best Disney movie to be released in recent years (not including Disney-Pixar). I often sing these songs in the shower. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI sing these songs anywhere I am. Lol
DeleteLET THE STORM RAGE ONNNNN, the cold never bothered me anyway! okay, yeah, I've seen this movie 3 times already (*cough* I love it ok?!) and have listened to the soundtrack ENDLESS times. I adore it. "do you wanna build a snowman" makes me tear up. and omg, olaf. I was laughing uncontrollably.
ReplyDeletethe sister relationship!!! i told my sister i'm buying this as soon as it comes out on dvd and next time I visit her we're watching it! you're totally right, I love how disney was like, insta-love? PSH, none of that! as far as my fave character, I have to say olaf -- he likes warm hugs and he just wants to get tan in the sun! how can you not love him. :)
I totally just read your comment in a singing voice in my head. hahahaha. I am so in love with this movie and I can't even handle it.
DeleteOlaf was so amazing! He was so cute and I want my own Olaf.
Ahh! I'm freaking obsessed with this movies! I love Olaf and the sisters and the songs. I can't help falling for both guys (well, before became evil).
ReplyDeleteThat's cool you and each of your sisters are like each of the chapters. It's funny how we're all blaming Elsa on the weather.
I gotta stop too, lol :P Thanks for sharing!
Yay! She's a good person to blame on the weather. Lol.
DeleteI love this post so much! I may or may not be currently listening to the soundtrack AND discussing mirrors between the Shatter Me series and Frozen. Because I am just that obsessed. I've seen it twice, and I can't wait for it to come out on DVD! I was at work alone the other night and literally sang the entire soundtrack from memory.
ReplyDeleteThis was such a cute idea! I love the comparisons between yourself/your sisters and the Frozen characters. And those pictures and GIFs just make me smile so much!
Great post! ♥
Thank you! Oooh what kind of mirrors? We must discuss this. I'm thinking. And I guess I can see how Elsa is kind of like Juliette. Afraid of hurting anyone. Kinda locked up for years. What else? Do share!
DeleteHaven't seen this yet, but it sounds like I need to...love the GIFS! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteWhat??? You need to. It comes out on dvd March 18th so you should totally buy it and watch it. And then we can talk about how awesome it is!!
DeleteI LOVE this movie. I already pre-ordered the Blu-Ray edition and everything. I loved the fact that they made fun of insta-love in this movie (with Anna & Hans in "Love is an Open Door"). I'm disappointed though, because I wanted Kristoff to have a solo! Not just Reindeers are Better than People. And... I've got to admit that even if the Hans being evil thing was a real plot twist, I think it would have been nice if he were actually nice... and that Anna said like "I was wrong, Hans, I don't love you. You can't fall in love with someone in a day." I don't know! I guess I wanted to see some love-triangle drama here! Haha.
ReplyDeleteLove the gifs!!
-Marianne
I definitely need to go preorder the blu-ray right this minute. Because I'm dying for it!!! I agree about Hans. I think it would have made a stronger impact if Anna had realized that she was just infatuated with him and not in love. But I still love everything and I just want to watch this every day forever.
DeleteBahaha Anna is so me. I loved that she was awkward and clumsy and I just so related. It was so much fun to see her goofiness! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you loved the movie! It was SO awesome and I just adore the music. I've always thought Idina has an amazing voice and being a Disney princess!? GET OUT. It was perfect :D Totally didn't know Kristen Bell was the voice of Anna until after the movie too! She was amazing!
Neither did I!!! I was like what??? Kristen Bell??? Love her. She did a fantastic job! I'm so glad Idina won the Oscar for Let It Go. She deserved it!
