Book Bangin' is a feature hosted by Kelly @ Belle of the Literati where, once a month, we talk about hot boys in books!
So I normally do a vlog for this feature but since my webcam decided that it didn't want to work, there will be no vlog. So I'll just have to gush about hot boys with written words this month.
This month's topic is bad boys which you all know I love. There's just something about the bad boy in books that grabs my attention. Not in my real life though. My husband is the epitome of the nice guy and I love him. <3
I have three boys for you. The first is Roth from White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This was my first JLA book ever and I absolutely loved it. JLA sure knows how to write swoony guys and Roth was no exception. He's a hot sexy demon with tattoos. He's arrogant, snarky, and a bit pushy. I love everything about him and I can't wait for the next book!
Next up is Nick from Altered by Jennifer Rush. This series is about four guys who have been genetically Altered. Get it? While they are all hot, Nick is definitely the most intriguing. He is quiet, brooding, and pretty angry most of the time. Which makes me wonder what he is so angry about. I need to know more! We don't learn too much about him in the first book, but I've heard he plays a bigger role in the second book and Jennifer Rush says that part of the third book will be written from his POV!
Third is Jace Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments by Cassie Clare. Surprisingly enough, I haven't talked about Jace in any of these Book Bangin' posts yet. Jace is arrogant, totally thinks he's God's gift to the Shadowhunter world. He's got sexy Runes which if you haven't read the series (what are you waiting for?) are basically hot tattoos and he's super ripped. So yeah. *drools*
Honorable Mention: Warner from Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I've already talked about him in like two of these, but I couldn't NOT mention him in this one. Because, well, Warner.
Hot Man of the Month: Park from Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. Yes, I finally read this book, my second Rainbow Rowell book and I absolutely loved it. I had so many feels by like page 80. How? How could I possibly love the characters so much so early? Because Rainbow Rowell is a genius. Park is my first ever contemporary book boyfriend. He's real. He's flawed. But he's also courageous, kind, funny, sweet, badass. Park has everything going for him.
There you have it! Sorry for the lack of vlog. I will try to get my webcam fixed in time for next month. Who did you choose as your bad boy book boyfriends?
LOVE Nick from the Altered series! Can't wait for his story to come out in January... Gosh that's far away. I still have yet to read White Hot Kiss. Seriously need to. It's JLA for goodness sakes. I also still have yet to read Mortal Instruments. It's a bit daunting. 6 books? Yeah, maybe this summer? Love your list!
ReplyDeleteYay to meeting a fellow Nick fan! I feel like not enough people have read that series. It's so good! Get on WHK right now! It's amazing!!! Mortal Instruments is a bit daunting, but it's so good!!! I read all 5 books back to back and then immediately read the prequel series (3 books). So I read 8 Shadowhunter books in a row and I regret nothing. Lol.
DeleteI think the Darkling from Leigh Bardugo's Shadow and Bone is definitely one of the bad boys out there. If fact, I wouldn't call him a bad boy, but a down right villain. I haven't read the sequel, yet, so not sure if he turns himself around (I doubt it), but while reading the first book all I could think was "Wow this guy is so evil and, yet, there's something so hot about him" Confidence, power, good looks: complete bad boy boyfriend package. Just thought I'd mention him. -Dana
ReplyDeleteThat's what I've heard! I know I am going to fall in love with him when I finally get around to reading that series! I've heard so many great things!!!
DeleteI agree, I loved Roth and Jace, two of my favorites. I also really like Will from Infernal Devices (he's basically like Jace). And Daemon from the Lux series. Usually I don't really like the bad boys in the sense that they're not truly bad (sorry, the Darkling IS truly bad), just arrogant and obnoxious, but there are usually reasons for it. When they're "bad," it just creates such tension between him and the female MC, that's why I think it works so well. ~Pam
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. There's just something so sexy about that tension. I also love Will, but I didn't include him because he was actually a really nice guy the whole time so by the end of the series he didn't feel like a bad boy to me anymore. But I do love him!
