May 2014 Rewind and Fast Forward

Uh, yeah. This is really late because I just realized that I totally forgot to do a May rewind. Oops! Well May was super busy for me. My sisters came to visit! We had such an amazing time together just hanging out and exploring DC. I was so sad to see them go and wish with all my heart that they lived closer. Living so far away is hard!

But then I went to BEA!! It was so amazing and I am so so so thankful that I was able to go and experience this amazing event with so many amazing people. I had such a great time. Got some awesome books. Met a lot of fantastic people. And just all-around had a great time!

The blog was still super busy in May though! I reviewed 14 books!

Deep Blue by Jennifer Donnelly
Feather Bound by Sarah Raughley
After the End by Amy Plum
The Wizard's Promise by Cassandra Rose Clarke
Life by Committee by Corey Ann Haydu
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman
The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Poison Dance by Livia Blackburne
We Are the Goldens by Dana Reinhardt
Guy in Real Life by Steve Brezenoff
Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
Guardian by Alex London

I did a couple of more personal discussion posts on things like not forgetting the real world, questioning if I'm too nice, and finally putting my foot down and saying that I am who I am. I also talked about novellas, explaining my feelings on them and asking for your opinions. And I gave some organization tips from an organization nerd!

I swooned over my favorite historical fiction book boyfriends and started a brand new feature that combines my love for book boyfriends, fashion, and cooking! Let me know what you think and if you want to see more posts like that in the future!

Those are the highlights! I also participated in some Top Ten Tuesdays

I normally talk about releases in the next month that I'm looking forward to, but seeing as June is almost over....I'll just mention a few that were released this month that I'm excited about.

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo: I haven't even started this series yet, but I have the two books and was just waiting for this one to come out so I could binge-read the whole thing! So excited!!

Wings by Elizabeth Richard: The conclusion to her Black City series (which I love!). I cannot wait to get my hands on this and tears through it!

That was my May! Sorry the recap was so late. You know how it is. Life and stuff. What June releases are/were you most excited about? Did you have anything fun going on on your own blog in May or come across any awesome blog posts? Link it up so I can check it out!

  1. I did the same thing with Leigh Bardugo's books. I wanted to just tag the whole trilogy together!

  2. Ruin and Rising!!! You will love this series. And I still need to read Wings. I remember Black City pretty well (I read it twice) but I think I'm going to reread Phoenix. Hopefully I'll be able to do that soon. Sounds like May was a great month! ~Pam

    1. I know I will. I'm so excited! Now I just need to actually buy Ruin and Rising and I can start... I don't really remember what happened in Phoenix, but I really don't want to reread it... Boo. I'll probably just wing it and hope for the best...
