I've seen a couple other bloggers do something like this like Jamie's Save the Date feature and Cuddlebuggery's Early Cuddles and decided that I wanted to do something similar to feature books that I've read well before their release date without doing a full review. These will be pretty brief and will just highlight some of the main things I loved about the book and then I will do a full review as the book gets closer to release. The first book I want to feature is:
The Return by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Series: Titan #1
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Genre: New Adult Paranormal
Format: ARC
Release Date: February 2015
Source: ARC received from publisher at BEA (Thanks, Spencer Hill!)
Rating: 5 Stars
***I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This
has in no way changed my opinion of the book. The review below is my
open and honest opinion.***
The Story:
It’s been a year since
Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so
far, the jobs they’ve given him have been violent and bloody – which is
kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind
for Seth. He’s got to play protector while keeping his hands and
fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint,
this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.
Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy’s deal might be, but it’s a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to “puree”. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of an ancient myth is gunning for her.
But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.

Why You Should Be Stoked:
This book was so good! Can you guys sense a theme with my week here? I binge read the Covenant series about a week ago and immediately jumped into this one because I needed more Seth!! I love him and I LOVED reading from his POV in this book.
He broke my heart a little. He's not the same Seth from book one in the Covenant series. But we got to watch him heal.
The steam. Oh the steam. This is new adult so it's a bit sexier than YA.... and by a bit, I mean holy hell I need a cold shower after reading that. Seth is HOT. Majorly hot. Like, panty-dropping sexy. You thought he was hot in the Covenant? Just wait. It gets better.
New faces! We meet a new main character, Josie who is pretty damn cool. She's similar to Alex in the sense that she's mentally strong, but really she's her own unique and awesome person and I can't wait to get to know her better as the series goes on.
And we get to see some old faces. Marcus. Deacon. Luke. Solos. Alex's father. I especially loved seeing Deacon again because he's freaking awesome!
And now I will sit here and wait impatiently in what I'm sure will be an agonizingly long wait for the second one... In the meantime, for those of you who haven't started the Covenant series...get going! Happy reading all!
I love JLA's Lux series, so this is something that I think I'd enjoy. But damn, 2015? That's a long wait!

I know right??? I'm like crying over how long I have to wait for the sequel.
DeleteThe Early Bird Special is so cute!! Fits perfectly with your blog. :) I definitely need to keep an eye out for this one!
ReplyDeleteThanks! My husband actually came up with the name. :) You do! Soooo good!!!
DeleteSeth definitely needs to be the main character in a New Adult novel…glad to hear it's so steamy! And so happy that we get to see old characters…can't wait!!! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteoh. my. gosh. Pam. So freaking steamy and awesome. You will LOVE this. Yes, so exciting! We didn't get to see much of Alex and Aiden (actually didn't see them at all) but I was actually kind of thankful because I felt like Seth deserved his own story you know? I do hope we see them in future books in the series. At least for a little bit. And more steam. Yes. Can't wait for more steamy scenes between Seth and Josie. ;)
