Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!
This week's topic forced me to really look at my bookshelves and discover which author's I own the most books from. Honestly, I don't own a TON of books from any particular author (w/the exception of two which you'll see shortly) so I just featured a few that I own 4 or more from:
Anna Godbersen:
I own the entire Luxe series by her. I read them way way back in high school and loved them. Actually forgot about them, but my mom just delivered some stuff to me that was still at her house and I found these in one of the boxes. The covers are gorgeous!! I want to wear one of those gowns!
Garth Nix:
The Abhorsen series!! Oh my gosh, I love this series so much and was thrilled to be able to meet Garth Nix at BEA and get a signed ARC of Clariel! I will definitely be rereading this whole series soon.
Sarah J. Maas:
So I know there's only four here, but it's going to multiply fast because I love this series so much and there's going to be six books!!! And have you seen the UK editions?? They are beautiful and I must have them! So yeah... my shelves are going to be overflowing with Sarah Maas soon. And I am 100% okay with that.
Stephanie Meyer:
I actually have one more. I have no idea where my copy of Breaking Dawn is. I think one of my sisters may have it. I also have another copy of Twilight somewhere... Sorry not sorry.
Cecily von Ziegesar
I am a huge Gossip Girl fan! If you read this blog you probably know that. I think I'm missing one though. The last one maybe? Did I ever read it? Honestly I don't remember. This was another series I read back in high school. Love it!
Jennifer L. Armentrout:
And JLA takes the cake. 12 books and counting. Seriously. I know I'm going to be buying more. I want Don't Look Back, and a shiny finished copy of White Hot Kiss, The Return, Stone Cold Touch, Opposition.... The list will go on and on. I am a JLA fangirl. Again, sorry not sorry.
And here's one that I SHOULD own a ton of books from:
Cassandra Clare
I read the entire Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices via the library, but I love them so much that I definitely want to add them to my collection.
Which authors do you hoard books from?
Love your list! I remember reading the Luxe series but I can't remember the story too well because it's been awhile. But those dresses are definitely gorgeous! I'm still in the midst of reading the Sarah J Maas books thus far, hoping to pick up Crown of Midnight before Heir of Fire comes out! And JLA is such a versatile author writing so many different types of series- I think she's going to be on many people's lists. Great Top Ten Tuesday!
ReplyDeletehaha I can't remember anything about the story either. Lol I may have to reread it sometime. Oh my gosh Crown of Midnight is soooooo good!!! You must read it soon! I'm reading the novellas right now and they are amazing!!! Agree about JLA. I'm convinced that there's not a single genre she can't write in.
DeleteYeah I remember reading them back to back but the story...don't remember that one. I was about halfway through Crown of Midnight, and I reading slumped out of the blue. Probably going to marathon that and The Assassin's Blade in preparation for Heir of Fire.
DeleteYes!!! I just read The Assassin's Blade and LOVED it and now I'm starting HOF bc I just can't wait anymore. Soooo excited!!!
DeleteFirst off I gotta say that I'm borderline distraught that you have an ARC of Heir of Fire *pets computer screen forlornly* I need to finish it SO BAD and but I can't because my best friend who has an E-arc on her kindle lives an hour away! :(
ReplyDeleteBut great list anyway, I used to have all the Gossip Girl books but they got culled from my library quite a few years ago. I still have my Luxe books and I always considered them to be a kind-of GG-esque series but set in the 1890's. Just as much drama but bigger dresses :P
Awww I'm sorry. :( Hopefully time goes fast between now and its release date!!
DeleteThat is the perfect way to describe the Luxe series! I think that's why I loved it so much when I read it way back in the day.
Yes, JLA. She writes so quickly and I keep buying her books so yeah, if I had participated this week she would have been on my list. And love Sarah Maas…I will be buying whatever she writes. I do own all Cassandra Clare books, and they are so pretty!! You should definitely buy them sometime. I own a ton of Richelle Mead too. Great list! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteOh don't worry, I will definitely be buying all the Cassie Clare books eventually. I still have to read the last one!!!
DeleteYeah, Richelle Mead is one I saw on a lot of lists this week, but I haven't read anything by her. Fail.
Ok, my top ten are: Jane Green, Nicholas Sparks, Dakota Cassidy, MaryJanice Davidson, Cassandra Clare, Kami Garcia/Margaret Stohl, Cynthia Eden, Janet Evanovich, J.K. Rowling, and Abbi Glines
ReplyDeleteI own a lot of the ones listed above! I loved the Luxe series! I need to catch up to you with my JLA reading!
Awesome! Yes you do! So we can fangirl and flail over all the awesome JLA things!
DeleteOMG!!! I want to read The Luxe series so badly! I've been told so many times that it's like historical Gossip Girl... WIN! Your collection of JLA is awesome... I need to start picking at these books :) Awesome list Rebecca and I love that you took actual pictures of them... swoonworthy!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it definitely is like historical GG. Haha I know, but I still feel like my JLA needs to be more epic. Thanks, dear!
DeleteSarah J. Maas... nuff' said. I loved the Luxe series as well! Also, I am super jealous of that large JLA pile and in complete agreement that buying her books is irresistible.
ReplyDeleteAnd YAY! to your stack of Twilight books. You have to come over and see my discussion post to see why your copy of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner makes me so happy. <3
Haha truth. She's amazing. JLA!! I will own every single one of her books one day. And hopefully have them all signed. lol
DeleteOooh I am intrigued. I will definitely drop by!
