Top Five Books That Would Be On My Syllabus If I Taught YA Historical Fiction 101

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!

I was going to go with fantasy for this topic, but I feel like I do so many posts on fantasy (being my favorite genre that totally makes sense). But then I just end up repeating the same books over and over again so I decided to switch it up and do YA Historical Fiction. I only have five because clearly I need to read more historical fiction, but these five books are so good!!

What other historical fiction novels would be on your list? What class are you teaching? Link up so I can check out your posts!

  1. Hi! I don't read much historical fiction either. I'm getting some great suggestions from these posts. I know I have to read Code Name Verity. :)

    1. Yeah, I feel like there's not a lot of historical fiction within YA. But it's definitely increasing!

  8. Ha, your reason about fantasy was the reason why I skipped this week's TTT! I was like, I'm just going to be listing the same fantasy books... but I'm glad you did YA historical fiction! I looved code name verity! And I haven't read the rest. fail! I have been wanting to read a mad wicked folly since it came out. in fact, i own it. I need to get to it!
