Synopsis
from Goodreads:
Perfect for the fans of Shatter Me who are
desperately awaiting the release of Unravel Me, this novella-length
digital original will bridge the gap between these two novels from the
perspective of the villain we all love to hate, Warner, the ruthless leader of
Sector 45.
In Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me, Juliette escaped from The Reestablishment by seducing Warner—and then putting a bullet in his shoulder. But as she’ll learn in Destroy Me, Warner is not that easy to get rid of. . .
Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.
Set after Shatter Me and before its forthcoming sequel, Unravel Me, Destroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

My
Review:
Oh Warner. How incredibly wonderful you are. So
sexy. So complicated. So strong. I know that technically I should have read
this book in between Shatter Me and Unravel Me, but I really don’t like
novellas and I also am not a huge fan of e-books so I typically skip these
little 1.5’s that authors put out. But after reading Unravel Me and falling head over heels in love with Warner, I had
to read this.
I loved getting a peek into Warner’s mind. I’m
telling you guys, I am madly in love with him. Like horrible crush on a
fictional character. I am completely obsessed with these books. Tahereh’s
writing is so unique and beautiful. This book wasn’t full of her usual similes
and metaphors, but it made sense that it wasn’t since we are reading from
Warner’s perspective and not Juliette’s. If it was possible for me to fall even
more in love with him in this book, I did. His character is so dark and
complex. He has a harsh unfeeling persona, but deep down he is genuinely kind
and caring. Gah, I swear if Tahereh Mafi doesn’t put Juliette and Warner
together in the third book, I am going to kidnap her and demand a rewrite. I’m
not crazy, I swear.
I also grew to hate Warner’s father in Unravel Me. In this book that hate grew
even more. I despise this man with every fiber of my being. I want him dead in
the third book and I want Juliette to be the one to do it. He is such an awful
human being, one completely consumed by his power. He uses fear and torture to
lead and I could feel the child in Warner coming out to cower in a corner in
the presence of his father.
I’m so glad I decided to purchase this one and read
it. Loved it and only wished it could have been longer. Oh and that Warner and
Juliette could have been together so they could make out. I’m going to go cry
over the release date for the third book now. Happy reading all!
