Top Ten Books I've Read So Far In 2013

Top Ten Books I’ve Read In 2013

This is my first time participating in Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week we are talking about the books that we have loved in 2013. I have read 49 books so far and guys, it is so difficult to narrow down the list to my top ten! I’ve read so many great books! Without further ado, here are my top ten books:

  • Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi: I knew that I would love this book because I loved the first one, Shatter Me, so much. It was amazing! Tahereh’s writing is so unique and beautiful and just…. Warner!!! I’m obsessed. If you haven’t read this one yet, drop everything you’re doing and read it right now! I mean it’s about people with superpowers and a hot boy with a dark past. How can you go wrong?

  • Fragments by Dan Wells: How can a 576 page long book not be long enough? I could not get enough of this book. Amazing. Dan Wells is incredible. Plot twists, some crazy interesting world-building, romance, and action. It has everything. Kira and Samm!

  • Defiance by C.J. Redwine: A dystopian novel with a fantasy twist. My two favorite things brought together! The main character Rachel is a badass and the romance between her and Logan is amazing!

  • The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey: Aliens in an apocalyptic world? Um, yes please! Amazing! Mystery, action, and romance! Are you guys sensing a theme here?

  • Invincible by Sherrilyn Kenyon: A fantasy book filled with sarcastic, funny, and mysterious characters. Sherrilyn Kenyon is an absolute genius. If you like The Mortal Instruments, then you need to read this series like yesterday.

  • City of Glass by Cassandra Clare: I just want to say that I read the entire Mortal Instruments series this year and am head over heels in love with all the books. I chose City of Glass as my favorite because of the massive amounts of action and plot twists, but honestly, this entire series makes the list.

  • Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare: See above. Cassandra Clare is amazing. I wish I could crawl inside her books and live there. Tessa, Will, Jem. So in love with her characters.

  • Icons by Margaret Stohl: More aliens! Dol, Ro, Lucas, and Tima are all characters that I fell in love with. A story that is so interesting, you won’t be able to turn the pages fast enough and then when you reach the end you will want to cry because it’s over and you just realized you have to wait a year for the next one.

  • Taken by Erin Bowman: A dystopian with an original idea that kept me guessing throughout the entire book. Loved this one!

  • The Selection by Kiera Cass: Team Maxon!! This book is dystopian, but also romantic and full of great fashion! My kind of book.
