Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Authors Who Deserve More Credit

Top Ten Authors Who Deserve More Recognition

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is Top Ten Authors Who Deserve More Recognition:

  • Kristen Simmons, author of Article 5 and Breaking Point. Her debut series is a dystopian with characters that you will fall in love with. Her dystopian world is well-thought out and rivals that of Divergent by Veronica Roth and Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. If you haven’t read either of these books yet, go pick them up. I’m looking forward to the third and final book in the Article 5 series which comes out February 11, 2014.

  • Elizabeth Richards, author of Black City and Phoenix. Elizabeth Richards weaves dystopian and fantasy together perfectly in her debut series. Her books are filled with evil government leaders and many different species of Darklings. If you haven’t picked up her books yet, you should.

  • Erin Bowman, author of Taken. Erin Bowman’s debut novel blew me away. The dystopian elements were dark and the story was fast-paced and full of mystery. The novel had hints of Divergent, but in a unique way.

  • Suzanne Young, author of The Program. I had never even heard of this author until I read The Program, but I instantly fell in love with the story and her writing style. She brought tears to my eyes through her characters; I love when an author can do that. She has a couple of other series including A Need So Beautiful and The Naughty List. I’m not sure about The Naughty List, but I will definitely be checking out A Need So Beautiful.

  • Jessica Khoury, author of Origin. I haven’t reviewed Origin yet for my blog, but it is amazing! It is a science fiction novel about a girl, Pia who is immortal. It is set in the jungle and is just beautiful. The story of Pia is fantastic. Go pick it up! The companion novel, Vitro, comes out January 14, 2014.

  • Heather Brewer, author of Soulbound. I know that Heather  Brewer is pretty well known for her Chronicles of Vladimir Tod and Slayer Chronicles series, but I think she deserves more hype for her Legacy of Tril series. I haven’t read either of her other two series, but Soulbound was incredible! If you haven’t read it or heard of it, go check it out right now!

  • Lisa M. Stasse, author of The Forsaken series. Another one I haven’t reviewed on the blog yet, but I loved the first book. Great dystopian read! I am looking forward to the second book, The Uprising, which will be released August 6, 2013.

Okay, so I only came up with seven. Who is on your list? Have you read any of the ones on mine? Leave a comment below!
