Elisa is a fugitive in her own country. Her enemies have stolen the man she loves in order to lure her to the gate of darkness. As she and her daring companions take one last quest into unknown enemy territory to save Hector, Elisa will face hardships she's never imagined. And she will discover secrets about herself and her world that could change the course of history. She must rise up as champion-a champion to those who have hated her most.

Why I'm Waiting:

I am so in love with this series. I recently read the first two books (I know I'm really behind...) and I wanted to slap myself for not reading them sooner. So. Freaking. Good. Rae Carson has done a masterful job with this high fantasy series. I tore through The Girl of Fire and Thorns and immediately picked up the second one, The Crown of Embers. And then there was a horrible cliffhanger and I wanted to cry. Actually I think I may have actually cried. I am so in love with these characters and this world. I've literally had dreams about the Fire and Thorns series. Dreams people. I'm obsessed. And this one comes out in less than a month!!!! *does happy dance* I. Can't. Wait.

What are you guys waiting for this week? Have you read this series? Leave a comment below!

  1. I haven't read the second one yet, but I think I'll try and wait until it's closer to the time Bitter Kingdom comes out given the cliffhanger you mentioned. So sick of cliffhangers! (I have a love-hate relationship with them right now). ~Pam

    1. Good call. I am dying. I also have a love-hate relationship with cliffhangers, but I think I love to hate them. I guess I just love when a series can grab my attention so much that I am literally pulling out my hair waiting for the next one. :)
