Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine where we discuss what books we can't wait for! My pick for today is:
The Treatment by Suzanne Young
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Expected Publication Date: April 29, 2014
Synopsis from Goodreads:
***Possible spoilers from first book. If you haven't read The Program skip down to why I'm waiting.***
How do you stop an epidemic?
Sloane and James are on the run after barely surviving the suicide epidemic and The Program. But they’re not out of danger. Huge pieces of their memories are still missing, and although Sloane and James have found their way back to each other, The Program isn’t ready to let them go.
Escaping with a group of troubled rebels, Sloane and James will have to figure out who they can trust, and how to take down The Program. But for as far as they’ve come, there’s still a lot Sloane and James can’t remember. The key to unlocking their past lies with the Treatment—a pill that can bring back forgotten memories, but at a high cost. And there’s only one dose.
Ultimately when the stakes are at their highest, can Sloane and James survive the many lies and secrets surrounding them, or will The Program claim them in the end?

Why I'm Waiting:
I loved the first book in this series. It dealt with the issue of suicide so well and the relationship was raw and real. The Program dealt with some pretty serious issues and Suzanne Young did a great job of not brushing them off. The writing was beautiful and I pretty much cried the whole time reading. I love when a book can evoke that kind of emotion out of me. Can't wait to get my hands on the second one!
Have you read The Program? What did you think? Are you excited for the sequel? What are you waiting on this Wednesday?
My friend Jenn is dying for this to come out.

I'm very excited as well! I requested it on Edelweiss, but it's still pending. Hopefully I get approved! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI only just recently finished reading The Program and LOVED it (so glad she found her way back to James and there wasn't a full-on love triangle situation. That would've annoyed me to no end).
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this either, especially since I'm wondering who is going to end up taking that damn pill!
Here’s my WoW :)

Me too! I need to know what's going to happen with them/to them! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI loved The Program so much! Can't wait for The Treatment! I NEED to know what happens. I'm actually really glad it's only two books instead of three... I want to know who takes the effing pill! Haha.

Me too! I love two book series. It's almost like a standalone, but we still get more of the story without having to wait 3+ years to find out what happens.
DeleteI haven't read The Program, but it's on my list of books I want to read! I love books that really connect with me emotionally, and this series sounds really good.

Yes, it really does. You should definitely read it! You'll have to let me know what you thought once you do. :)
DeleteI really enjoyed The Program, so I'm definitely reading the next one. I didn't realize it's just two books, but I'm so glad since I am reading so many series these days, it's exhausting. Can't wait to find out what happens to them! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteI know right? I'm so tired of series and having to either reread all the first books in the series or read the recaptains of them. It's exhausting to keep track of them all.
