Top Contemporary Boys I Want to Meet

Book Bangin' is a feature hosted by Kelly @ Belle of the Literati where, once a month, we talk about hot boys in books!

What contemporary boys do I need to meet and what contemporary books in general do I need to read? Who are your favorite swoony contemporary men?

  1. I had to live in a hotel for two weeks when we first moved and I can't imagine doing that for two months! I was like you, I thought it would be great with the free breakfast, maid service, gym, etc. but it got old so fast. December usually goes so fast so hopeful it will not be so bad!

I've started reading contemporary recently so I haven't read that many, but it definitely depends on what mood you're in. There's usually the issue oriented ones, sometimes with damaged characters (which is Pushing the Limits) or the more fun and fluffy ones (and sometimes you just need a little fluff).

Here are some recommendations: Anna and the French Kiss (St. Clair), Lola and the Boy Next Door (Cricket), The Distance Between Us (Xander), Meant to Be (Jason), The Summer I Became a Nerd (Logan), Flat-Out Love (Matt), How to Love (Sawyer, although he has some issues and a lot of people absolutely hate him), and What Happens Next (Corey). And yes, definitely Jase from My Life Next Door. Love him!

    Hope this helps! ~Pam

    1. Yes and we will be in Chicago for the last week of December so I'm sure it will fly by!

I'm not a huge fan of fluff. If I do read contemporary, I prefer the issue oriented ones. Although I suppose it would be a welcome relief to have so fluff once in awhile after all the dark dystopians I read.

Thanks for all the recs!! I will definitely be checking them out. Some of them I have heard of, but most I haven't. You're awesome!

  2. Okay, I didn't read like any contemporary for the longest time! Totally get that. Anyway umm Katie McGarry boys. I cheated and put all 3 of them clumped into my #1 spot in my top 5 list. =) Seriously, they are freaking amazing and I love them all so much! I can't wait for you to read Pushing the limits!! I also talked about Jase Garrett! Basically all the ones on my list I loooove but definitely read PtL! =)

  3. Ya know what's funny? I ALWAYS say I never read contemporary...but I totally do. And like I said in my video, when I DO read contemporary and it is good, I become obsessed!

    OMG TARVER!!! I CAN'T I CAN'T I CAN'T!! Amazing book!!!! Swoon times a million!

YOU NEED TO READ KATIE MCGARRY!!! OMG and YES you need to meet Jase Garrett!! I read that book BECAUSE of Book Bangin and because he was on EVERYONE'S list!

And Chuck Bass--agreed! I totally don't even associate the books and the show. So different. And I LOVE that they are different.

    1. Your comments make my day! Lol. You're awesome. :)

Haha, I actually don't read contemporary. But I'm seriously going to try harder for 2014! So many swoony boys I'm missing out on.

Tarver is the swooniest. I'm in love with him and I'm pretty sad that the sequels are companions and we probably won't see much of him. Nooooooo!!!

Yes, the books and show are so completely different, but I agree. I loved the direction they took the show and actually found it way more addicting than the books.

And I first started hearing about Jase Garrett from Book Bangin' too! Everyone's intro post seemed to have him. Need to meet now!
