Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we make lists of bookish things!
With Thanksgiving only two days away, this week's topic is top ten things I'm thankful for. Writing this post really made me think. It humbled me to write and made me reevaluate my blessings. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
My husband: What would I do without him? My husband is my rock. He supports me in everything I do. He knows how important this blog is to me and patiently sits there while I spend hours reading and writing up posts. He spoils me rotten and loves me with a capacity that blows me away. He makes me laugh and he can always cheer me up, no matter how down I am. I love you so much, Phil. I thank God everyday for giving him to me.
My family: My mom has been my best friend for years now. I can call her and tell her anything and she listens and helps me come up with a solution. My relationship with my dad has improved so much over the last couple years. Where there used to be no relationship, there is a strong one. We talk at least once a week and I find myself picking up the phone to call him if I have a problem I want advice on. My sisters, Megan and Allie. We fought a lot when we were kids, but now are best friends. I miss you all so much and wish I could be with you for Thanksgiving. Love you guys!
The blogging community: What an amazing community of people I have met since I started this blog back in February. Everybody is so nice and it's been such a blessing to get to know some of you and talk about books among other things. Thank you for your support.
Authors, agents, publishers, editors, etc.: Everybody that helps put a book out into the wild for us to devour. You are all so incredible and your hard work is appreciated. I don't know what I would do without books. It's my way of escape from life. It's both relaxing and exciting to be able to go visit another world. I know it takes a lot of work and I'm thankful for the entire team that works so hard on my beloved books.
A place to live and food to eat: I take these things for granted far too often and I need to stop and say thank you. There are so many people in this world that have nothing. I am truly blessed to be living in this wonderful country full of so much freedom and opportunity.
Book boyfriends: Yes, I am thankful for book boyfriends. Don't judge. You know you are too. They're so fun and swoony and they give me all the feels and without them, books would not be the same.
Friends: I don't have many close friends, but the ones that I do I am so thankful for. They have made such an impact on my life. Thank you for always being there for me. Miss you guys!
Not living in Washington anymore: I am so thankful that my husband and I finally moved out of Washington state. We lived in Washington for about two years together and I just really despised it. To give you some context we lived on the eastern side of the state, which is a desert (I know, no one believes me. Go look it up. I swear it's real). Anyway, there was nothing there. Literally. It was the middle of nowhere and I just wanted to get back to civilization. And now we have in Reston, VA!
You: I am thankful for my wonderful followers. I can't believe all of you actually visit my blog and read my thoughts. It's so crazy to me and I love each and everyone of you. If we haven't talked before leave me a comment, tweet at me, or email me! I want to hear from all of you wonderful people!
God: God is the most important thing in my life. I know that without Him I would be nowhere and have nothing. Everything that I have, I have because of Him. Thank you, Jesus for blessing me so fully when I do not deserve it.
What are you thankful for? There are so many things, this list could go on forever. I am truly blessed.
Aww I love these! I love all the pictures with it too! So cute. So, I'm from WA and love it but I'm from the west side in the city. haha. I totally get why eastern wa isn't that great - I've only ever visited bc fiance's family is from there but there's nothing there... I would get stir crazy!
ReplyDeleteHahaha yes! It was so bad there. The west side isn't. There's tons to do over there, but when you're trapped in a desert with only the Columbia River to keep you company it makes you crazy.
DeleteWhat a great list! You're right, the book blogging community is so supportive and I love finding out about books I've never even heard of and getting recommendations. And yes, book boyfriends. I try not to feel guilty swooning over some 16 year old so I just pretend they're a bit older. :) ~Pam
ReplyDeleteThanks! Same here. I just picture them as my age. It's much easier with the military guys like Chaol and Hector. They seem older, you know? Maybe that's why they're always my favorite... And Warner is 19 (even tho I know you're on Team Adam). That's legal so it's fine right? Lol.
DeleteGreat list and so many wonderful things to be thankful for! I'm not sure what I would do without my boyfriend, my friends and my family, they are all incredible. My TTT.
ReplyDeleteYes! I totally agree. They help me through so much. I would be completely lost without them. :)
